Even before its release 'Singh is Kinng' was in the news for all the wrong reasons, with all sort of controversies surrounding the film. And even now the film is courting yet another controversy, for being a lifted concept of a novel and the producer has been sued for Rs. 5 crore for the copyright infringement.As if that wasn't enough The Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC) on Monday formed a three-member committee to screen Akshay Kumar starrer 'Singh is Kinng' to see if the Sikhs have been portrayed negatively in the film. The DSGMC had sought a ban on the movie last Friday for allegedly ridiculing the Sikh community and wrote a letter to Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit asking her to ban the film in the national capital.DSGMC president Paramjit Singh Sarna said, "The film's promos showed a Sikh character wearing a turban, while sporting a French cut. This is not a positive Sikh image. The screening should not be allowed until its makers make changes in the portrayal of Sikh character."Despite the announcement by the Shiromani Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC), the apex religious body of the Sikhs, it was up to the audiences to decide if they wanted to watch the film. Yet, this is a happy film as Happy Singh is the hero’s nickname. Akshay said, "It is an entertaining film and I have made it for my grandmother and my grandfather.
