Veteran actors Naseeruddin Shah and Anupam Kher will come together after ten years for UTV Motion Picture's 'Wednesday'.The film, directed by debutante Neeraj Pandey will release on September five.In the film, Shah plays the character of a terrorist who will not stop at anything while Kher plays the role of a police commissioner who has to stop the terrorist at all costs, Pandey said.Shah and Kher began their careers in almost the same decade. While Naseeruddin became an actor to reckon with after 'Nishant' in 1975, it took Kher couple of years to make it to the marquee with 'Saransh' in 1984.Both eyed the same kind of roles and there was almost a healthy rivalry between them. They shared screen space in 'Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro' (1983), but Kher's entire track was deleted, and the film went on to become a cult for Shah. Finally after 19 years, both of them have liked a script together. In fact one of the main factor for both of them to come together was because the 'other' was working on it."It was great working with him; we worked together in few films like 'Pestonjee', 'Misaal' and 'Tridev'. When I signed the film, I was unaware of the rest of the cast. So when I came to know that Naseerji is also a part of the film, I was really thrilled and was looking forward to work with him," Anupam Kher said.Kher and Shah came together in Subhash Ghai's 'Karma' (1986), followed by 'Pestonjee' (1988), 'Tridev' (1989), 'Chaahat' and 'China Gate'. With over 146 films, Shah become the messiah for parallel cinema with landmark films like 'Manthan', 'Bhumika', 'Akroosh', 'Bazaar', 'Mandi', 'Jaane Bhi Do Yaroon' very earlyon in his career. He also tried his hand at some popular cinema with films like 'Masoom', 'Umrao Jaan', 'Sarforsh' but his heart remained in roles with an edge.Kher on the other hand after beginning with off beat films like 'Saranash' and 'Daddy' went on to play 'father and uncle' character roles for Rajshri, Yash Raj and Karan Johar films.
