Bollywood filmmaker Sajid Nadiadwala has signed Hollywood legend Sylvester Stallone in his forthcoming film 'Kambakkht Ishq', starring Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor. The movie, directed by Sabir Khan, is set against a Hollywood background in which Akshay Kumar plays a stuntman. Nadiadwala is in the process of getting on board some more Hollywood stars to lend an authentic touch to the film. "This film is my most ambitious project and I am not leaving any stone unturned. We had been speaking to Stallone's agents for a while now and the deal has finally come through," Nadiadwala said. The filmmaker says Sylvester has two scenes in the film, which will be shot in Hollywood. "I am not sure how many days will Sylvester have to put in; we are yet to work that out," he said. According to Nadiadwala, the scenes with the 'Rocky' star will be shot in the Universal Studios and Kodak theatre, the venue of Oscar awards.
Refusing to divulge what Stallone would be paid for the role, Nadiadwala said that the film is budgeted at Rs 80 crore. Nadiadwala describes 'Kambakkht Ishq' as a typical Bollywood romantic comedy against a Hollywood backdrop.
"The film will have all the Bollywood flavour. Only the canvas will be bigger," he says. Nadiadwala and his team will be flying to Los Angeles next week for the movie's pre-production work. The stunt coordinator of this Kumar-Kapoor film is also a well-known Hollywood name, Spiro Razos, who has worked for films like 'Vantage Point'.
The filmaker has signed Susan Paley Abranson and Justine Hempe, the casting directors of 'Entourage', the US reality show to help him select Hollywood actors for the film.
