He's been out of action for some time now but it seems he's all set to woo the audience one more time with his next. TIMES NOW's Correspondent Amrita Puri caught up with actor Akshay Khanna on location of Priyadarshan's next 'Mere Baap Pehle Aap'. The actor spoke about importance of freedom of expression in films and more.
Amrita: You were shooting, you were dancing, a lot was happening out there.Akshay: Yes. We are shooting the last song of the film. The film will then be done. It is a beautiful song and very melodious. We have had a great time shootin.
Amrita: How was it like shooting a dance sequence?Akshay: I think with whatever you do on screen whether dancing, acting or action, I find that as long as you enjoy it, it doesn't really matter how gifted you are in terms of the actual art of it. If you enjoy whatever you do that shows on the screen. I am not a naturally gifted dancer but I try and enjoy myself and that works for me.
Amrita: But comedy has been your forte in which you shine and people love you.Akshay: I can't say that comedy is my forte. I just enjoy working with it.
Amrita: Amidst the blogging controversies, we never see you talking to the media and your very secluded.Akshay: I am not a technical and internet kind of a guy. I am not very good at computers and I really don't know how to maintain a blog.
Amrita: There was a controversy with Health Minister Ramadoss saying that actors should not be seen smoking and drinking on screen. What is your take on it?Akshay: I really feel strongly about what is written in out Constitution -- Freedom of Expression. I am not for curtailing freedom of expression and thats the right given by the law to every Indian living in this country.
