Filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker says that each film poses a new challenge to him and that is what he looks for while making a film. "A filmmaker grows with every film. The challenge is how one portrays different stories on screen. If there are no challenges, it will be a boring exercise," Gowariker told reporters in Mumbai after the DVD launch of 'Jodhaa Akbar'. About his next flick 'What's your Rashee?', Gowariker said, "I have never attempted a romantic comedy and it will be a challenge for me to fulfill my own expectations." On how he expects the lead pair, Harman Baweja and Priyanka Chopra to work for the film, the director said, "A film's fate at the box office depends on luck. But, Harman has proved his credentials as an actor. Besides, he is also a prolific dancer. His pairing with Priyanka is good on screen and I am sure it will work wonders for my film." The filmmaker is eager to venture into wars, horror and family drama genre and willing to direct a period film again if a good story comes his way. "I am looking for a good story. After 'What's your Rashee?' I will begin work on 'Khele Hum Ji Jaan Se'. It will be an adaptation of Manini Chaterjee's book "Do and Die" on the Chittagong uprising of 1930s," he said. On the success of 'Jodhaa Akbar', Gowariker said when he announced the film, 'Dhoom 2' and 'Krrish' had not released then. "It was my good luck that these two films worked and also helped my film," he said. "DVDs take films to a completely new space. Your film is available for multiple viewing in the vicinity of your home," Gowariker said. (PTI) ... read more »
