The Delhi High Court today (September 22) rejected a plea of Hollywood production giant Warner Bros seeking stay on the release of Bollywood film 'Hari Puttar: A Comedy of Terrors'.Warner Bros, the owner of Harry Potter trademark, sought the court's intervention to restrain the producer of the film from releasing it with its present title.Justice Reva Khetrapal found that there is no "commonality" between the names and allowed the producer of the Bollywood film to release it on scheduled on Friday.The Hollywood production house had contended that the producers intentionally chose the title 'Hari Puttar...', which sounds phonetically and structurally similar to popular trademark Harry Potter.It contended that it would create confusion amongst viewers. It had pleaded that producers of the Bollywood film were deliberately creating confusion to gain commercial advantage.However, producer of the film, Mirchi Movies Limited, the entertainment arm of Times group, refuted the allegations that their film's title is in any way similar to Harry Potter because it is based on an original literary work with no resemblance to Potter.The Bollywood production house had said the title Hari Puttar is not associated with Harry Potter and Hari Puttar means (both in Hindi and  Punjabi) God's son.
