Filmmaker Anurag Basu has made a bold statement. He thinks it’s about time that superstar Amitabh Bachchan retires from films. His larger than life image, his powerhouse performances and his versatility are few of the many things that cause filmmakers and producers to make a beeline for the superstar, Amithabh Bachchan but all this doesn't seem to have impressed filmmaker Anurag Basu who made an acidic comment, "I think the whole magic of Amitji has gone. He should gracefully retire now." According to Basu senior Bachchan has become mechanical as far as his acting is concerned.However, Amitabh Bachchan is not one of those who’ll take such remarks lying down. In reply to the filmmakers comment Amitabh said, “A prominent filmmaker declared much like Mr Basu, that it was time to put the last nail in the coffin of Mr Bachchan.
